How do I know if counseling would be a good fit for me?

If you’re asking this question, then it’s probably a good fit :) No matter where you are with your mental health, whether debilitating or just simply holding you back from living your fullest life, counseling can help pull you up out of the darkness, or shine a little light to keep you from going farther into the darkness than you’d like to go. 

How long will I be in counseling?

Everyone’s story is different, and the frequency and duration of sessions may look different for each individual. Ideally, I recommend at least a couple months to get the most out of your experience. Even once you feel you have reached your goals and established a stronger mental health, our stories are continuously developing. Many people still desire to continue therapy as a means of maintaining that health, especially as different circumstances arise. 

Do you take insurance?

At this time, Michelle is able to accept credit card, check or cash but unfortunately not insurance. If this is a problem for you, please don’t hesitate to let her know.  Michelle has opportunities for fee adjustments or can recommended other therapists in the area who are able to accept insurance.  

What is online therapy and how does work? 

Online therapy is a way for those who travel or live overseas for study abroad or work opportunities to find and establish stability in therapy and not have to pause or end their work because they are in a different location. It may also be a great option for those who prefer to meet from the comfort and safety of their own home. is a simple, free, and secure telemental health solution. It is accessible from your desktop, tablet or smartphone and is HIPPA compliant and secure. You will be given a link to click on it when your session is scheduled to start that will take you directly to Michelle's online waiting room.
