Fees and Policies

Clear information so you can make an informed decision about counseling.

Beginning therapy is a meaningful investment of time, energy, and finances. I want you to understand the practical details before we begin. If you have a questions not answered here, please feel free to contact me.

Insurance

Rooted EnCourage does not bill insurance directly but I do partner with TPN.Match. You can click here for more information. Depending on your plan, you may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement. Upon request, I can provide a superbill containing the information you need to submit a claim to your insurance company.

Reimbursement is determined by your insurance plan and is not guaranteed. Before beginning, consider asking your insurer:

  • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental-health benefits?

  • What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much has been met?

  • What percentage or amount is reimbursed after the deductible?

  • Is prior authorization required?

  • How do I submit a superbill?

  • Are telehealth sessions eligible for reimbursement?

Insurance generally requires a mental-health diagnosis and medical necessity. Stand-alone career exploration, premarital education, assessments, extended sessions, and other non-medically necessary services may not be eligible for reimbursement. We can discuss the nature of the service before you begin, but the insurance company makes the final coverage decision.

Fees

My fees are $140 for a 50 minute session. I offer discounts to those in serving in ministry and missions. Payment is due at the time of service. I am able to accept credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, cash and checks.

No Surprises Act

Clients who are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance have the right to receive a "good-faith estimate" of the expected charges for scheduled medical services under the No Surprises Act.

Cancellation policy

Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. Cancellations and rescheduling requests require at least 48 hours’ notice.

Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments, are subject to the full session fee. Insurance does not reimburse cancellation or no-show fees.

Minors

A parent or legal guardian must provide informed consent for counseling services involving a minor. I will also explain confidentiality and its limits to the student in developmentally appropriate language.

Before beginning career or counseling services, we will clarify:

  • Who the client is

  • How parents or guardians will participate

  • What information will remain private

  • How assessment results will be shared

  • How scheduling and payment communication will be handled

Communication and emergencies

Email, text messages, website forms, and voicemail should be used for scheduling and routine administrative communication, not urgent clinical needs. These channels may not be monitored continuously.

Rooted EnCourage is not a crisis-response service. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental-health crisis or suicidal thoughts, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
